Vacation Rental
As I look back at my past vacations, I’m having trouble believing that almost every year; all my vacations were spent with my daughters in a cramped hotel room. All of us would share two double beds, and of course my children would fight not only about where they would sleep in, but in what order they would lie on the bed. Then comes the next battle – the TV set. Right in the middle of the small space was the bone of contention. I have to keep myself from shouting as they argue over who was going to watch what. I wanted to watch the news, the older girls wanted to watch their own shows, and my little one wanted to view Barney. There are some nights when we would solve our dilemma by just turning the television off. Then comes shower time – I can’t imagine we survived having one bathroom for four people!
As I look back about our vacations in the tiny little space we used to rent, it became clear to me that our camping trips in a spacious tent were far more enjoyable! We would see shadows on the tent, get cozy and listen to the night noises. I am not sure which hotel or resort was responsible, but someone out there put the mentality in our heads that great vacations started and ended in the hotel room. I strongly disagree.
Now that I’ve tried going to vacation rentals during my vacations, I can say that my hotel days are over. Vacation homes have more than enough space for a huge group, is cost-effective since you don’t need to eat out every time you feel hungry (all are equipped with full-sized kitchens), are more secure, and are packed with lots of perks and nice amenities like private pools.
